-Saint Charbel was a Maronite Catholic priest, monk, and hermit who lived in 19th Century Lebanon and was beatified by Pope Paul VI in 1965.
-He is known among Lebanese Christians as the "Miracle Priest of Lebanon" because of the blessings that were obtained through his intercession, especially after prayers were said at his tomb in the Monastery of Saint Maron in Annaya, Lebanon.
-Charbel Makhloufwas beatified by Pope Paul VI in 1965.The Pope said: "A hermit of Mount Lebanon was enrolled among the blessed... a newly distinguished member of the monastic holiness, who by his example and intercession enriched the entire Christian people... may he make us understand the supreme value of poverty, repentance and asceticism in order to liberate the soul in its ascent to God in a world largely bewitched by wealth and comfort.
